My daughter, Aarya whom I call ಗುಂಡಿ has turned 14 months. She has brought so much joy and happiness that we could never imagine.
She was born 10 days overdue and felt like she didn't want to come to this world! After a 20 hours of painful labour we decided enough was enough and got a c-section done.
The first night at the hospital, everyone went home and I was alone with the tired mother and the new born, she had her first poop and I didn't know how to clean or change diapers. I ran out and called a nurse for help, she said with a flat face "you are a father now, you learn it". That's how my father duty started and hopefully I have gotten better at it since then.
When we go outside I don't hold on to Aarya as others wants to hold and play with her but when we are home, I don't stop cuddling her and kissing her cheeks.
She rolled over when she was 4 months and 19 days, crawled at 6 and a half months and started walking by 10 and a half.
I always used to tell my mother to talk less as she speaks continuosly and this little bundle of joy is one step ahead of her. The only time she stops talking is when she's sleeping 🤦♂️
I want to write blogs as a way to keep track of her activities, her achievements, our learnings and more than anything how myself and Bhagya feel about parenting. I hope to make it a habit.
